Xpectra Media LLC started in 2018 in a rented garage on the north side of Austin with two heat presses, a secondhand laptop and a stack of blank tees. Our founders had spent years on the customer side of custom printing and were tired of the same three problems: minimums that priced out small orders, artwork emails that dragged on for a week, and delivery dates that quietly slipped until the event was over.
The first fix was the preview. If a customer could see their artwork on the actual garment color, at the actual size, before paying, most of the back and forth disappeared. The second fix was scheduling production backward from the customer's deadline instead of forward from the order date, which is still how our floor is planned today.
Growth came one repeat customer at a time: a coffee roaster in Seattle, a logistics company down the road in Austin, a health network in Chicago that needed four hundred conference shirts in eight days. Each of them came back because the reorder matched, and each of them told someone else.
Today the studio runs direct-to-garment lines, six-color automatic screen presses, fifteen-needle embroidery heads, sublimation calendars and laser engravers, with a finishing and fulfillment bay attached. The equipment list has changed completely since 2018. The two rules have not: show the customer exactly what they are getting, and hit the date.
We remain an independent, American-owned company. Every order on this site is produced domestically. Nothing is drop-shipped from an overseas fulfillment partner, and no order leaves our building without a person putting eyes on it.
